Alistair George BSc (Hons) MRICS FNAEA FICBA

In 1993 Alistair took a work placement with a local firm of Estate Agents during a construction studies course at Leamington College.

Whilst on this placement he was noticed by a Northamptonshire based firm specialising in the sale and letting of village and country properties, and there he stayed until 1997 when he returned to Rugby to further progress his career.

In 1996 Alistair enrolled on a part time degree course at the University of Central England (now Birmingham University), spending one day a week at University and the other six working full time. He says "self funding a University degree, seems to focus the mind."

Gaining a BSc (Hons) in Estate Management in 2001, he was approached by a local firm of Chartered Surveyors. Smith and Green provided him with the ability to put the degree to use and an opportunity to bring some modern methods to a very traditional firm. Smith and Green merged with the Hawkins Group in 2004 where Alistair provided commercial property expertise to the four office network.
In 2007 Alistair successfully completed the Assessment of Professional Competence and joined the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. Taking an active role in his profession, Alistair is an assessor for the associate grade of membership of RICS, an national committee member of ICBA (Institute of Commercial and Business Agents) and past Chairman of Rugby Round Table.

Following some internal changes to the Hawkins Group in 2009 and the onset of the worst recession in most living memories, Alistair effectively de-merged the firm and rebranded as George & Company who are now completely focused on providing professional property services form the Rugby offices.
